The Rheinsteig starts at Bonn’s market square. The first stage passes the Museum Mile and the Rheinaue park, crosses the Rhine and continues with fine views over the Nücker Felsweg, through the Mühlenbach valley and past the wine villages of Nieder- and Oberdollendorf to the Nachtigallental near Königswinter.
The stage is long with several climbs – good fitness and sturdy shoes are essential.
