From the car park in Ippendorf the trail heads into the Kottenforst to the Waldau with its wildlife enclosure and nature centre. It continues past the Berzheim cross to the early medieval Venne ring wall, along the Villiper Bach to the Ville lakes and back through the Katzenlochbach valley.
